This one-day Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme course is designed for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities. It is designed to help construction supervisors to:
Supervise and protect the environment through legal provisions and protect the eco-system by following environmental management systems to mitigate environmental damage whilst playing a part in reducing statutory nuisance and disturbance to neighbours. Manage the impact that archaeology and heritage can have on construction and controlling water consumption impact on natural water supplies.
The delegate will also learn how to implement control measures to prevent the pollution of watercourses and how to identify ethically sourced timber though the chain-of-custody entering site. Lastly, identify, control and manage contamination on brownfield sites and how to classify, segregate and properly dispose of waste.
This is a nationally recognised course and you may be eligible for funding.

This course is for you if you’re considering, or already have, supervisory responsibilities. It will provide supervisors with a broad understanding of the environment and the issues construction sites’ face.
This course is delivered and assessed using Zoom and Microsoft Forms or ClassMarker.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, it has been developed for construction supervisors, so this should be considered before enrolling delegates on this course. Delegates must be competent in English at site supervisor level.
Yes, CITB is a recognised awarding body who promote and grant qualifications.
On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a 5 year certificate. A natural progression for this course would be complete a NEBOSH environmental course.
